In a new paper Peter Lindgren, Sofia Löfvendahl, Gunnar Brådvik, Ola Weiland and Bengt Jönsson utilizes data from the InfCare Hepatitis registry to model the value generated when the second generation direct-acting antivirals were introduced in Sweden. The transfer of funds from the government to the regions helped generate substantial surplus for both consumers and producers and may serve as a model for the funding of future curative treatments.
